On November 15, 2023, Jean-Yves Sénant signed a memorandum of understanding with Derartu Tulu, President of the Ethiopian Athletics Federation and former double Olympic champion, to host Ethiopian athletes for their preparation ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The Greek athletics delegation also signed a memorandum of understanding after visiting the town’s sports facilities on Saturday November 18.

To complete this team, on February 26, 2024, the Armenian delegation joined the Ethiopian and Greek athletics delegations at the city’s sports facilities.

The town is honored to welcome such talented and promising athletes to its territory. Ethiopian runners, among the world’s best over long distances, a Greek team that includes long jump world champion Miltiádis Tedóglou and Armenian runner Yervand Mkrtchyan, who won gold in the 1500 meters at the 2024 Balkan Winter Games.

From this summer onwards, the Stade Georges-Suant will be made available to foreign teams, guaranteeing them optimum conditions for training, recovery and preparation prior to competitions.

As a result, Antonian teams will have the opportunity to attend the training of athletes participating in the Paris Olympic Games.

Nearly 130 athletes gathered on the track of the Georges Suant stadium for a meeting in the presence of french Paralympic champion Charles-Antoine Kouakou!

On Wednesday June 1, nearly 130 athletes, including around thirty Antonian athletes, met on the track of the Georges Suant course for the very first athletics meeting since its inauguration. Several disciplines were represented, such as the 110 meter hurdles, the long jump or the 100 meter.

The track equipped with sensors connected to the SmarTrack application, which measures the speed and performance of athletes, was particularly appreciated by the athletes.

When the foil elite clash in Antony

On Friday February 11, the Complexe Eric Tabarly welcomed the men’s teams from Hong Kong and Japan as well as the French Olympic Champion team for a friendly foil match.

No less than 5 reigning Olympic foil champions were present to the delight of the public: Enzo Lefort, Julien Mertine, Maxime Pauty, Erwann Le Péchoux, but also the individual Hong Kong champion Cheung Ka Long. Initiated by Brice Guyart and supported by the City and Antony Sport Fencing , this exceptional meeting was also an opportunity to discover one of the three facilities of the City selected to be a Preparation Center for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Thursday, January 27, nearly 300 children from Antonian schools took part in Olympic and Paralympic Week, co-organized by the City, National Education and the US Metro. This competition, which counts in the national U20 and senior rankings, has become an essential foil event in France! The athletics track at the Georges Suant Stadium, approved at “national” level, is made up of 9 lanes, a 10% overspeed track and all-new jumpers (height, length and pole). Another particularity: it is also equipped with sensors linked to an application, SmarTrack, which makes it possible to measure the speed and performance of athletes.
